USPS for Pano Market

USPS is the United States Postal Service. This plugin adds it as a shipping provider to Pano Market, which must be installed and running: it is a required dependency of this plugin. It is for stores that ship from the United States to US addresses; it does nothing for a sender outside the US.

What it supports

  • Live shipping rates at checkout for USPS Ground Advantage, Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express. USPS gives every app a low hourly quota, so quotes are remembered and you choose which classes are asked.
  • Tracking: Pano Market asks USPS for the state of open shipments, also for a tracking number you enter by hand, and a tracking subscription makes it ask sooner.
  • Buying a PDF label from the Pano panel and cancelling a label that has not been scanned yet. This needs a USPS Ship account with an Enterprise Payment Account (CRID, MID, manifest MID, EPA number); without them the plugin still does rates and tracking.
  • Test mode against the USPS Testing Environment for Mailers.
  • One parcel per shipment, domestic only (maximum 70 lb).

Verification level

Unverified: this plugin has not been tested against a live or sandbox USPS account. Its tracking handling was checked only with sample answers written from the documented protocol.

Setup

  1. Install Pano Market, then this plugin, and open Market, Shipping, USPS in the panel.
  2. Create an app in the USPS Customer Onboarding Portal (My Apps) and paste its Consumer Key and Consumer Secret.
  3. Fill in the sender address (country US, state, 5-digit ZIP code) and the default parcel size.
  4. To buy labels, fill in the USPS Ship section (CRID, MID, manifest MID, EPA account number).
  5. Optionally ask USPS for a tracking subscription and give it the webhook URL shown in the form. The webhook is not signed: Pano Market always asks USPS for the real state before it believes a notification.
  6. Press “Test connection”, then enable the carrier and bind a shipping method to one of its services.
